Licence and reuse

Please share this material. It exists to be passed around. There are only a few limits, and they are there to protect readers rather than to protect revenue.

This covers everything written for this site: the NBT, SAT and ACT books, the IEB practice booklets and mock papers, the OMPT worksheets and the generated arithmetic worksheets. The matric booklets are different — see the last section.

You may, without asking

  • Download any of the books, booklets or papers and keep them.
  • Print it, in whole or in part, as many times as you like.
  • Give copies to learners, classmates, colleagues, a study group or a whole school.
  • Use it in a classroom, a tutoring session or a study centre, including a paid one.
  • Photocopy and hand out the generated worksheets.
  • Link to any page on this site from anywhere.

Please do not, without written permission

  • Sell it, or charge any fee for access to it.
  • Re-host the PDFs elsewhere. Link to the page you downloaded it from instead. This is the important one: the material is corrected as errors are found, and a copy sitting on someone else's server stays wrong forever while its readers have no way of knowing.
  • Alter the content, or remove the attribution and the licence page.
  • Reproduce substantial parts of it inside another work.

Brief quotation in a review, and normal educational citation, are always fine.

In short

Attribution

If you would like to credit it, this is enough:

The Complete NBT Mathematics Practice Book by Eben Roux, available free at Mathbench.

and the same pattern for anything else here — its title, Eben Roux, Mathbench.

Independence

This is an independent publication, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any examining body — the About page names them. Every question and solution has been independently checked, but no warranty is given that the text is free of errors, and no liability is accepted for any loss arising from its use. Test formats and policies change — always confirm current arrangements with the body that sets your examination.

The matric booklets

The DBE matric booklets reproduce the Department of Basic Education's own question papers and marking guidelines, which remain the Department's copyright. Mathbench only sorts them by topic, and this licence does not cover them: use them as the Department's own terms allow.
