Privacy policy

Short version: there are no accounts, nothing you do here is uploaded to us, and apart from the host that delivers the pages, the only third party involved is Google, which serves the ads.

What we collect ourselves

Nothing. Mathbench has no accounts, no login, no newsletter and no contact form. We do not run our own analytics and we do not have a database. You can read every page and download every book without identifying yourself in any way.

What stays in your browser

A few things are remembered using local storage in your own browser: whether you chose the light or the dark look, the length you picked for an OMPT worksheet, a timed test you have started (so you can come back to it), and the topics, number ranges and options you chose in the mental arithmetic trainer and the worksheet generator. This never leaves your device and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data removes it, and everything simply starts from its defaults again.

Advertising

This site is funded by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and in some cases to personalise them based on your prior visits to this and other sites.

Ads appear only on the three books, the practice tools and the pages about the site. The IEB and OMPT practice, the matric booklets, the timed tests and every Afrikaans page carry none.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent choice before personalised ads are served, and you can change that choice at any time.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Netlify, which — like any web host — processes standard server request data such as IP address and browser type in order to deliver pages and guard against abuse. See Netlify's own privacy documentation for details.

Children

This material is intended for school learners and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, because we do not collect personal information at all.

Your rights

Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and under the GDPR if you are in Europe, you have rights of access, correction and deletion over personal information held about you. Since we hold none, there is nothing for us to return or erase — but for advertising data held by Google, use the Google links above, which are the effective route.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
